THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS PERFECT LEATHER PROCESSING
Before Rhino can calculate and fully automate the optimal utilization of each hide, everything begins with a crucial step: the precise digital scanning process. In this process, the hides are not only captured, but also intelligently assessed, zoned, and documented – thereby perfectly prepared for subsequent processing.
Preparation

The hide is first placed onto a conveyor system specially designed for this purpose, equipped with a non-slip fleece belt and a vacuum pump to securely hold it in place. Using a convenient foot switch, the operator can advance the hide step by step – completely effortlessly.
Scanning

High-resolution cameras and two projectors capture the surface.
Using a digital pen, the operator marks defects, flaws, or quality zones.
This information is then projected in real time.
Forwarding

A barcode is automatically generated and applied to the back of the hide – or an existing barcode from the supplier is used. At the same time, a connected high-performance computer system ensures that all information is reliably stored in an SQL database: from the outline and area to the classification into quality zones, as well as supplier data and color codes.
